| Opmerkingen |
Rothenburg ob der Tauber was one of hundreds of German municipalities forced into emergency currency production during the postwar inflation spiral, but it leaned harder into the tourist angle than most. The town's notgeld series was deliberately designed as collectible souvenirs — attractive enough that visitors would pocket them rather than spend them, which suited the issuer fine.
Adolf Hosse was a local printer, and keeping production in-town was typical of smaller Bavarian municipalities that lacked connections to the major Leipzig or Berlin printing houses. The DeNG reference suffix ".2a-1/6" indicates this is one note within a consecutively numbered set, with variations tracked across the subseries.
