备注

Rudolstadt's 50 Pfennig notgeld of 1921 was printed locally by Lorsch & Nachbar, a firm operating in the same small Thuringian town that issued the note — an unusual degree of self-sufficiency for municipal emergency currency of this period, when most German cities outsourced to major Leipzig or Berlin print houses. The result is a distinctly regional character in both production quality and design sensibility.

By 1921 the notgeld wave was already shifting from genuine necessity toward collector-driven "Serienscheine" — notes printed in sets specifically to be sold to dealers rather than spent. Whether this issue falls into that category or served real circulation in Rudolstadt's local economy is the more interesting question for the specialist.
