Randow was a Kreis in the Province of Pomerania, its administrative seat at Stettin — which is why a local printer could handle this without difficulty. The note belongs to the vast wave of Kleingeldersatz issued across Germany from 1919 onward as coins vanished from circulation, hoarded or melted, leaving municipalities and district treasuries to fill the gap with their own paper fractional currency.
The DeNG reference suffix indicates this is one of several known varieties within the series — eight distinct types catalogued under this base number, differentiated by serial ranges, signature combinations, or minor typographic changes. M. Bauchwitz was a Stettin commercial printer, not a specialist security firm, which shows in the modest production values typical of Pomeranian Notgeld from this period.
