| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in blue on light grey paper and centres on a large heraldic shield bearing horizontal bars, surmounted by a mural crown with crenellations, the whole flanked by elaborate acanthus-scroll cartouches and a flowing ribbon banner inscribed with the issuer name and date. The denomination numeral '50' appears in each of the four corners within ruled frames, with vertical guilloche-pattern borders at left and right. The word 'Pfennige' runs in Gothic letterpress along the lower margin, with the printer and designer credits below. |
