正面铭文 Notgeld der Stadt Lobeda
50 Pfennig
Gültig bis drei Monate nach Auflösung des Gemeindevorstands Lobeda
Mark 1921
Im Tale die Saale
Druck: Johannes Arndt-Jena
背面描述 Central circular medallion contains a monochrome vignette of the ruined Lobeda castle keep, surrounded by a decorative scrollwork border bearing a continuous Gothic-script quotation about the lords of Lobeda and the city of Jena. The red and black bicolour design places the denomination '50 Pfennig' in each of the four corners; the left panel carries a Madonna-and-Child figure above a golden lion on a radiant ground, while the right panel bears a full-length armoured knight in blue holding a heraldic shield.

备注

Lobeda was a small town on the southern outskirts of Jena — so small that it was eventually absorbed into Jena entirely in 1922, the year after this note was issued. The Notgeld it produced was therefore among the last acts of an independent municipal authority that knew its days were numbered. Johannes Arndt's press in Jena handled a significant volume of Thuringian Notgeld during the early 1920s inflation spiral, supplying neighboring towns with issues that the Reichsbank could no longer adequately serve.

The DeNG reference distinguishes seven sub-varieties within this single denomination, suggesting multiple print runs or color variants — unusual output for a town of Lobeda's size.
