备注

Emmendingen's 1921 Notgeld issue was part of the broader municipal emergency currency wave that swept German towns as the Reichsbank struggled to keep small-denomination coinage in circulation during the postwar inflation spiral. Gebrüder Parcus of Munich were among the more prolific Notgeld printers of the period, supplying dozens of southwestern German municipalities with lithographed series — their output was competent and consistent, which is precisely why Emmendingen's issue doesn't distinguish itself technically.

The Baden district town had a population of roughly 6,000 at the time. Notes like this circulated briefly and were typically redeemed within months, making surviving examples more common in uncirculated hoarded condition than in genuinely worn everyday use.
