| Obverse description | The note is framed by a decorative border in warm brown tones, with the left half occupied by a vignette of an elderly mariner at the ship's helm, dressed in a blue hooded garment, sailing vessels visible in the harbour behind him; the wheel itself bears the numeral '50' in blue.
