Comments

Kamp-Bornhofen, a small Rhine village best known for its twin medieval castles and tourist trade, was among hundreds of German municipalities forced to issue their own emergency currency during the postwar coin shortage. The Parcus brothers in Munich were prolific Notgeld printers in this period, producing runs for localities across Bavaria and beyond — their involvement here is unremarkable, though Hans Kruzwicki's design credit is worth noting, as named designers are relatively uncommon in municipal Notgeld of this scale.

The 1921 issues came late in the main Notgeld wave, by which point many municipalities were printing as much for collector revenue as for genuine circulation needs.
