| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central vignette shows the municipal coat of arms of Mülsen-St. Jakob, composed of two heraldic lion supporters rearing on either side of a shield bearing a black triangle on a white field with green spots, rendered in a bold expressionist woodcut style in green, grey, and black. The heading 'Notgeld der Gemeinde Mülsen-St. Jakob' is set in a decorative Gothic script across the upper portion, while the date, serial number, and facsimile signature of the Gemeindevorstand appear along the lower margin. A vertical panel at right carries the denomination '50 Pfg' and the note's validity date 'Gültig bis 10. Sept. 1921' in a contrasting black and green border. |

| Opmerkingen |
Mülsen-Sankt Jakob was a small Saxon textile village, and like hundreds of similar communities in 1921, it issued its own notgeld when small change became functionally unavailable due to postwar inflation and coin hoarding. The Ratsdruckerei R. Dulce in nearby Glauchau — a municipal print shop serving the Zwickau district — handled production for several such local issues, which accounts for the family resemblance between notes from neighboring parishes during this period.
The reference range 906.3-5/8 suggests at least three distinct varieties within this single denomination issue, likely differentiated by serial number range or minor typographic variation.
