Friesack is a small Brandenburg town whose Notgeld issues from 1921 fall squarely within the second wave of German municipal emergency money — printed not from genuine monetary necessity by that point, but largely to satisfy collector demand that had made series-issue Notgeld a minor revenue stream for cash-strapped local administrations. The town issued several denominations simultaneously, and the 50 Pfennig was the workhorse of the set.
Printed on thin paper stock typical of small-run provincial printers, these see significant foxing and edge toning in circulated survivors.
