Flanking vignettes at left and right each depict a stylised smoking volcano or kiln set against a landscape background, referencing local prehistoric industry. The central composition, signed "n. W. Richter", shows an arched display of prehistoric ceramic artefacts — urns, vessels, bowls and implements — arranged on a shelf beneath a domed funerary urn, all within a semicircular decorative arch of repeated loop ornaments.
