Obverse description Yellow-ochre ground with an expressive black letterpress vignette in the Expressionist style, signed 'Egon Tschirch 1921' at lower right. The central motif shows two grotesque figures — a horned devil and a human — engaged in a tug-of-war over the large blue-grey numeral '50 Pf', surrounded by flowing ribbon banners carrying Low German dialect text. The issuer's name 'NOTGELD STADT DOBERAN' appears in bold Gothic lettering across the top.

Reverse description Cream-coloured note with an elaborate black letterpress composition in an angular Expressionist style, signed 'Egon Tschirch' at upper right. A large bold numeral '75' dominates the upper centre, flanked by the inscription 'AUSGEGEBEN ZUR 75. JAHRFEIER', while interlocking ribbon banners carry the text 'NOTGELD DER STADT DOBERAN' across the field, with a stylised eagle or bird motif at centre. At the foot, 'DER RAT DER STADT DOBERAN' is printed in heavy Gothic type above four manuscript signatures, with a validity clause reading 'DIESER SCHEIN VERLIERT SEINE GÜLTIGKEIT 3 MONATE NACH BEKANNTMACHUNG' woven into the ribbon design.
