Comments

Hoym is a small town in the Anhalt region, and this note is a product of the postwar Notgeld wave that swept German municipalities between 1919 and 1922. Local authorities printed their own fractional currency not from civic pride but from necessity — the Reichsbank was hemorrhaging coinage into hoarding as metal values climbed, leaving towns unable to make change. Louis Koch of Halberstadt was one of dozens of regional printers pressed into service for these runs.

Hoym's issues are minor in the Notgeld collecting world, with no documented errors or variants of note.
