Dinslaken's 1920 Notgeld issue was part of the vast municipal emergency currency wave that swept Germany as the Reichsbank struggled to keep small-denomination coinage in circulation during the postwar inflation spiral. Gebrüder Parcus in Munich printed for dozens of municipalities simultaneously during this period, making their output recognizable to specialists by paper stock and typographic conventions even when issuer marks are worn.
