Comments

Selsingen is a small parish in Lower Saxony, and its decision to issue emergency currency in 1920 was entirely typical of the Weimar-era Notgeld phenomenon — municipalities across Germany stepped in to fill a genuine coin shortage that persisted well after the armistice. Gebrüder Jänecke in Hannover was one of the more prolific commercial printers serving this demand, producing Notgeld for dozens of small issuers across the region, which means the printing quality here is competent but not artistically ambitious.

The DeNG reference places this within a documented series, suggesting at least one additional denomination was issued alongside it.
