Obverse description Notgeld issued by the city of Jacobshagen, with a central circular vignette of the town hall rendered in colour against a radiate sunburst underprint. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large letterpress type at left and right, flanked by elaborate Art Nouveau scroll ornaments; the city coat of arms — a red eagle above a blue horizontal bar — occupies the lower centre. A redemption clause in Gothic script is set to the left, with the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat' and a manuscript facsimile signature to the right, the year '1920' and the designer's imprint 'Rob. Koch' also present.

Reverse description The reverse is executed in a rich multicolour letterpress design on a deep burgundy ground, with two allegorical female caryatid figures flanking a central framed vignette of a church tower. Decorative corner pillars with the denomination numeral '50' in blue enclose the composition, while fruiting garlands and baroque scroll ornaments fill the lower field. The town name 'Jacobshagen' is inscribed in Gothic blackletter across the middle register, with 'NOTSCHEIN' on a cartouche at the top centre.
