| Obverse description | Cream-toned notgeld voucher with a double-ruled border in dark red and black. The denomination title 'Fünfzig Pfennig' is rendered in large Gothic script at the top, flanked by two polychrome vignettes of fir trees, reflecting the local Harz forest landscape. Two symmetrical diamond-shaped cartouches in gold and tan carry the numeral '50' in bold red on either side of a central text panel, which states the redemption terms, the issuing date of 1 November 1920, the municipality of Ilsenburg, and bears the manuscript signature of the Gemeindevorsteher; below, the word 'Gutschein' appears alongside a serial number, and the motto 'Gott schenke uns allen ein fröhliches Herz' runs along the lower margin with the printer's imprint. |
