| Opmerkingen |
Meiningen's 1920 Notgeld issue belongs to the second wave of municipal emergency currency — after the initial wartime shortages forced improvisation, smaller cities like Meiningen had by 1920 turned the form into something almost deliberate, printing locally rather than waiting on a banking system still struggling to function. Gg. Lilie was a regional printer, not one of the large specialist houses, and the quality of the series reflects that.
Keßler's signature as Oberbürgermeister gives the note its formal legal grounding under municipal authority — without that, it was just paper.
