The district arms of Erkelenz — a shield with a lion and a wheel — appear at upper left, beside the issuer legend and date in Gothic (Fraktur) script. The large denomination numeral '50 Pfennig' is printed in bold blackletter, with a serial number and series letter below; a block of small-type German text sets out the conditions of acceptance, followed by the place-and-date line 'Erkelenz, den 24. Juni 1920' and three manuscript signatures beneath the issuing authority line. |
