| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in red-brown and green on a cream ground with a fine guilloche underprint. A bold Gothic-script denomination '50 Pfennig' occupies the upper panel in red, below which the issuer legend appears in ornate black-letter script. To the left stands a vignette of the Tiegenhof city gate — a medieval brick tower with flanking turrets surmounted by cross finials — while to the right a circular Magistrat seal in red, enclosed within a decorative green cartouche, lends official authority. The date 'Tiegenhof den 1. April 1920', the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat', two manuscript facsimile signatures, and a red serial number appear in the central field, with a redemption clause in small letterpress type along the lower border. |
