Obverse description Green lithographic notgeld on pale paper with an overall foliate guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral '50' appears in each corner within circular frames bordered by ornamental scrollwork, and the issuer's name 'Kreis Heinsberg' is set in Gothic blackletter type at the top centre. The body of the note carries the full voucher text in Gothic script, including the serial number, the written denomination 'fünfzig Pfennig', legal tender clauses, and two manuscript signatures above the date 'Heinsberg 5. Dez. 1919' at the foot.
Obverse lettering The value 50 on each corner, enclosed in a circle. 19 Kreis Heinsberg 19 Gutschein N° _ _ _ _ _ _ über fünfzig Pfennig Alle öffentlichen Kassen des Kreises nehmen diesen Gutschein in Zahlung. Der Kreis Heinsberg haftet für die Einlösung. Der Gutschein wird ungültig einen Monat nach Aufkün- digung in den heinsberger öffentlichen Zeitungen Der Kreisausschuß des Kreises Heinsberg Heinsberg 5. Dez. 1919.
Reverse description Green lithographic reverse sharing the same foliate guilloche underprint as the obverse. A central full-length vignette in detailed intaglio-style engraving portrays Johann I. von Heinsberg in full plate armour, holding a drawn sword in his right hand and a heraldic shield bearing a rampant lion in his left. The denomination numeral '50' is repeated in circular frames at each corner, and a floral repeating border runs along all four edges; the legend 'Johann I. von Heinsberg.' is inscribed in Gothic script directly below the figure.
