| Obverse description | Notgeld issue in a warm rose and mauve colour scheme, with the denomination '50 Pfennig.' printed in circular cartouches at upper left and upper right. A central oval vignette, framed by a laurel wreath, presents a colour lithograph of a stone observation tower on a wooded hillside — characteristic of the Thuringian landscape around Lehesten. The word 'Not=Geld' is printed in large bold letterpress type flanking the central vignette, with two small heraldic shields in the lower corners, one bearing a fir tree and the other a miner's crossed hammer and pick. The issuing authority inscription and a manuscript signature appear below the vignette, with a serial number along the lower edge. |
