备注

Harburg's municipal administration issued this Notgeld note in 1919, at a time when small-denomination coinage had effectively vanished from everyday transactions — hoarded, melted, or simply lost to wartime chaos. Hundreds of German towns and cities issued their own emergency paper in this period, and the Magistrat der Stadt Harburg was one among them, signing with a single administrative signature from Denicke.

Harburg itself was then still an independent city on the south bank of the Elbe, not yet absorbed into Hamburg — that annexation came in 1937. A minor but genuine distinction for provenance purposes.
