| Beschrijving keerzijde | Brown and ochre Notgeld note centred on a circular vignette set against a star-studded dark ground, enclosing the allegorical figure of 'Trauernde Germania' — a draped female personification of Germany seated in mourning upon a pedestal, alluding to the Battle of Kissingen of 1866. The dates '1866' and '1919' appear above the circular frame, while a stylised foliate underprint fills the surrounding field and triangular geometric ornaments accent the four corners. Inspirational texts in Gothic letterpress script run along all four margins, with the engraver's name 'GAYDE' noted at the base. |

| Opmerkingen |
Bad Kissingen's municipal authority issued this Notgeld note in 1919 as the postwar currency shortage left the Reichsbank unable to supply sufficient small denomination coinage. The spa town's Stadtmagistrat — like hundreds of German municipalities that year — filled the gap unilaterally, producing notes backed by nothing more than local institutional authority and the assumption of redemption.
The engraver credit to Gayde is worth noting. The signature of Dr. Pollwein as countersigning magistrate was common practice for legitimizing emergency municipal issues, though it carried no legal weight beyond the issuing locality.
