Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is printed on a green underprint composed of repeating micro-text reading 'Bezirksverband Schwarzenberg', serving as a security background across the entire field. At centre, an oval vignette contains a traditional Erzgebirge miner in regional costume, standing erect and holding two lit candelabras at shoulder height, with stylised fir trees at his feet — a classic Schwibbogen figure emblematic of the region. The bold numerals '50' flank the vignette to the left and right.

Opmerkingen

Schwarzenberg im Erzgebirge was mining country — silver ore had defined the region since the 15th century, though by 1919 the mines were long exhausted and the local economy was grinding through postwar collapse. This tiny Notgeld note was issued by the Bezirksverband, the district administrative body, as small-denomination coin simply vanished from circulation. Germany's silver and nickel coinage had been systematically melted or hoarded during the war, leaving communities to fill the gap themselves.

The micro-text underprint is a relatively sophisticated security measure for a local emergency issue of this size — most Erzgebirge Notgeld from the period made no such effort.
