正面描述 Plain light grey paper with a central coat-of-arms vignette as underprint. The issuer's name STADTGEMEINDE ERLANGEN arcs across the top in Gothic blackletter type, beneath which the denomination Fünfzig Pfennig is set in large blackletter script with the word Gutschein über above it. Denomination numerals 50 appear in ornamental cogwheel roundels at lower left and right, flanking a two-line issuance text and the Stadtmagistrat signature line with the title Oberbürgermeister; the printer's imprint JUNGE appears at the base.

备注

Erlangen's 50 Pfennig Notgeld from 1918 belongs to the first wave of municipal emergency currency issued across Germany as the imperial coin shortage — driven by wartime metal requisitioning — forced towns and cities to print their own small-denomination scrip. The Reichsbank had authorized local authorities to do so from 1916 onward, and by 1918 hundreds of German municipalities were running their own presses.

Junge & Sohn, the local Erlangen printer responsible for this issue, was a civilian commercial firm, not a specialist security printer. That matters: these notes were never designed to resist counterfeiting, only to fill a gap.
