| Obverse description | Cream-toned notgeld note with a bold black thorn-branch border framing the entire face. At centre, the municipal coat of arms of Neustadt — a gold shield bearing a rampant lion in black and brown, surmounted by a crowned cartouche with baroque scrollwork — serves as the principal vignette. The denomination "50 Pfg." appears in large red Gothic numerals in each corner, with validity and redemption clauses flanking the arms, and the issuing authority, date "den 1. Dez. 1918," and a manuscript countersignature of the Stadtrat printed in black Gothic script along the lower margin. |
