The heading Stadt Magdeburg appears in large Gothic Fraktur at the top, followed by three lines of validity text in smaller script. The central vignette is a large, elaborate heraldic rendition of the Magdeburg city coat of arms — a crowned female figure above a fortified gate flanked by towers, set within an ornate acanthus-scroll cartouche.
