| Obverse description | Kriegsgeld (war emergency note) printed in dark brown and yellow on white paper, with a teal border frame. The upper legend reads 'Kriegsgeld der Stadt Oberndorf a.N.' in Gothic blackletter script. The central vignette, set against a dark background, presents two pairs of crossed rifles arranged symmetrically around a central yellow diamond lozenge bearing the denomination '50 Pfg.' and the word 'Pfennig' below; flanking the vignette are two heraldic shields in yellow and black displaying the arms of Oberndorf and Württemberg.
