Obverse description Typeset Notgeld note printed in black and blue on plain paper. The issuer title "Kreis Coesfeld" appears in Gothic blackletter script across the top, flanked by ornamental scroll devices, with a handwritten serial number at upper right. A large central rectangular frame in blue carries the bold denomination "50 Pfennig 50" in Gothic letterpress, with a stylized floral ornament between the numeral and the word. Below, three lines of Gothic text state the validity clause, followed by the issuing authority line "Der Kreisausschuß:" and three manuscript facsimile signatures, with the printer's imprint "J. AD. SCHWARZ / LINDENBG. AUG." at lower right.

Reverse description Kriegsgeld vignette printed in black, blue, and brown over a full-field guilloche underprint of repeating scroll motifs in grey. A central circular medallion contains an engraved allegorical scene of a armoured knight or warrior figure amid decorative acanthus scrollwork, flanked at upper left and right by oak-leaf sprigs. The denomination numerals "50" appear in large blue figures to either side of the medallion, with "Kriegs" in Gothic blackletter at upper left and "Geld" at upper right. The issuer name "Kreis Coesfeld." is set in Gothic script along the lower edge, with the designer credits "HEINZ" at lower left and "SCHIESSL" at lower right.
