备注

Bad Nauheim's 1917 Notgeld issue came out of the same wartime necessity that pushed hundreds of German municipalities into emergency currency production. The Reichsbank had effectively hoarded metal coinage — brass, nickel, even copper — for the war economy, leaving small-denomination transactions without a practical medium. Cities printed their own.

Carl Naumann's Frankfurt press had been operating since 1821 and handled a significant volume of regional Notgeld contracts during the war years, supplying multiple Hessian municipalities. The firm closed in 1926, well after the inflation emergency had subsided.
