| Reverse description | Central device featuring a radiant sun with a stylized human face, its rays alternating between straight and wavy types, occupying the majority of the field. A circular legend reading 'BICENTENARIO DE LOS HECHOS HISTORICOS' arcs around the upper periphery, while the commemorative dates '1811-2011' appear below the sun in the lower field, flanked by decorative dots. The overall composition celebrates the bicentennial of Uruguay's foundational historical events. |

| Additional information |
Uruguay's 2011 independence commemorative program marked the bicentennial of the 1811 revolution against Spanish colonial rule, with José Artigas's campaign beginning that year at the Battle of Las Piedras. Trial strikes in bronze were produced during the die-approval process before final composition was confirmed — these pieces were never intended for release and exist outside the normal mintage figures entirely.
