Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms is depicted in the center of the field, featuring a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion bears a rising sun over a landscape with sea and mountains, the lower left shows a striped field representing the original states, and the lower right displays a royal palm tree. A Phrygian cap atop a fasces surmounts the shield, which is flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, both tied at the base. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 PESOS is inscribed along the lower periphery.
