| Description de l’avers | Central vignette of the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia at Higüey, rendered in fine intaglio engraving, occupies the right half of the note against a guilloche underprint in purple and ochre tones. The denomination numeral 50 appears in large letterpress at lower centre-left, flanked by two serial numbers, with the issuing authority title across the top and two facsimile signatures below — those of the Gobernador del Banco Central and the Secretario de Estado de Finanzas. Ornate lathe-work corner medallions bearing the numeral 50 frame all four corners within a decorative border. |

| Description du revers | The central vignette presents an intaglio view of the Catedral Primada de América (Cathedral of Santo Domingo), the oldest cathedral in the Americas, rendered in fine line engraving with its Plateresque façade, arched portal, and flanking bell tower clearly delineated. The Dominican Republic coat of arms appears in a small guilloche cartouche at the top centre, flanked by the bank title, while ornate lathe-work guilloche borders and corner medallions with the numeral 50 complete the design in a uniform purple palette. The series year 1994 is printed at the very top of the note above the border. |
