| Reverse description | Uniformly printed in blue intaglio, the reverse centres on a large circular vignette of the Mexican national eagle — wings spread, perched on a nopal cactus — surrounded by an elaborate engine-turned guilloche border. The denomination numeral '50' appears in each of the four corners within ornate cartouches, and symmetrical lathe-work panels flank the central vignette on left and right. The bank name 'BANCO DE LONDRES Y MEXICO' is inscribed in two lines at the lower centre, with the printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, NEW YORK' in small lettering along the bottom margin. |
