Beschrijving voorzijde The right half of the note is dominated by an intaglio vignette of the Catedral Primada de América, Santa María la Menor — the oldest cathedral in the Americas — rendered in fine engraved linework against an orange and yellow guilloche underprint. The left portion carries the large numeral "50" in dark purple intaglio over a lathe-work background, flanked by the circular seal of the Banco Central de la República Dominicana in gold, with two signature lines below bearing the titles GOBERNADOR DEL BANCO CENTRAL and MINISTRO DE HACIENDA. The denomination CINCUENTA PESOS DOMINICANOS is inscribed in the lower-left quadrant, and the issuing authority's full name runs along the bottom border in bold letterpress.

Opmerkingen

Pick 183 was produced by two separate printers across its short run — De La Rue for the 2011 dated notes and Oberthur Fiduciaire from 2012 onward — a split that reflects the Dominican Republic's long-standing practice of dividing contracts between suppliers, likely as both a cost and supply security measure. The change in printer coincides with a change in Finance Minister, though whether one caused the other is unclear.

Héctor Valdez Albizu held the governorship of the Banco Central across all three dates, his signature appearing on every example regardless of printer — a continuity worth noting when attributing specimens by signature combination alone.
