Louis-Eugène Mouchon was a French engraver best known for his postage stamp work — including the 1900 "Mouchon" definitive series for France — and his involvement here places this note within a broader tradition of Argentine notes produced or designed with European technical input during the interwar period. The Banco Central itself was only established in 1935, making this among the earliest issues under that institution's authority, supplanting the older Caja de Conversión notes that had dominated Argentine circulation for decades.
The series ran across a notably long window given the political turbulence of the period, surviving the 1943 military coup that ended the conservative Concordancia governments.
