正面描述 The obverse is printed in black letterpress on white paper with orange-red guilloche rosettes at left and right flanking the central text block. At the top centre, a spread eagle vignette surmounts the bold gothic-script legend 'Estados Unidos de Colombia', below which appears 'ESTADO SOBERANO DE CUNDINAMARCA' in uppercase serif type. The denomination 'CINCUENTA PESOS' is set in large display type within the body text, with the note number and 'POR $50' inscribed in the upper corners; a circular cancellation punch is visible at centre, and two manuscript signatures appear at the foot alongside their respective titles.

备注

The Estado Soberano de Cundinamarca was one of nine sovereign states under Colombia's federalist constitution of 1863, each granted broad autonomy including the right to issue its own paper currency. That arrangement produced a fragmented monetary environment — notes issued in Cundinamarca carried no obligation beyond its own borders, and public confidence in state paper varied sharply depending on the fiscal health of the issuing government at any given moment.

Printed locally by Litografía de J. Paredes rather than sent abroad to a European house, the note reflects the practical constraints of Colombian provincial finance in this period. Paredes was among the few commercial lithographic operations then functioning in Bogotá.
