Opmerkingen

The Junta de la Administración de la Casa de Moneda was Buenos Aires province's issuing authority during the long Rosas period — not a national bank, because no such institution existed yet. Argentine monetary unification wouldn't come until the 1890s, leaving each province to manage its own paper emissions. This note predates the fall of Rosas by four years; the political crisis of 1852 and the subsequent reorganization of Buenos Aires finances disrupted the entire emission series.

PS407 is among the more elusive entries in this series. Survivors tend to show heavy fold wear from commercial use — the 50 Peso denomination circulated actively rather than sitting in reserves.
