Opmerkingen

The Banco de España's 1878 50 Pesetas note belongs to the early years of the peseta system, which had been established by royal decree only in 1868 under the short-lived "Glorious Revolution" government. Spain's note-issuing infrastructure was still consolidating at this point — the Banco de España had only recently been granted its monopoly on issuance, formalized fully in 1874.

This is a replica. Buyer should be aware that the FNMT has produced authorized facsimile runs of early peseta-era notes for archival and educational distribution; whether this example belongs to one of those official productions or is of separate origin is worth establishing before attributing any numismatic premium.
