Spain's Pick 1 is the earliest note listed for the Banco de España in standard catalogs, dating to the post-Restoration period when Alfonso XII had just reclaimed the throne. The FNMT reissued or reproduced early Banco de España designs at various points in the twentieth century for archival and commemorative purposes — this example is cataloged as a replica, meaning it was never legal tender and carries no monetary history of its own beyond documenting what the original series looked like.
