| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of King Juan Carlos I of Spain, depicted in civilian attire, occupying the right portion of the scalloped field. The legend JUAN CARLOS I appears in two lines to the upper left of the effigy, while ESPAÑA is inscribed in larger lettering across the lower left field. The portrait, engraved by Luis José Díaz Salas, presents the king in a naturalistic, contemporary style without crown or regalia. The coin's distinctive seven-lobed Spanish flower shape frames the entire composition. |
