| 备注 |
Bagur — now officially Begur — is a small hilltop town in the Costa Brava, and the Cooperativa Bagurense was one of hundreds of consumer cooperatives across Catalonia that issued improvised local currency during the summer and autumn of 1936, when the collapse of the Republican monetary supply chain left villages economically paralyzed. These issues had no legal standing outside their issuing community and were typically redeemed — or simply abandoned — within months.
The thick card stock was a practical choice: standard banknote paper was unavailable, and heavier stock survived the rough handling of daily market transactions better than thin sheet.
