| Obverse description | The left portion of the note is occupied by a tall intaglio-printed vignette of the Bank of Spain monogram cartouche, with an interlaced 'BE' cipher set within an ornate guilloche border and vertical text 'BANCO DE ESPAÑA' along the left margin. To the right, the denomination numeral '50' appears as a large pale underprint across the centre of the note, with the promise-to-pay text rendered in a flowing script above the issuing branch designation 'BILBAO'. A rubber validation stamp dated '1 SEP. 1936' and applied in violet ink, reading 'POR EL BANCO DE VIZCAYA / El Contador', appears in the lower right quadrant alongside a manuscript signature. |
