| Obverse description | The Finnish heraldic lion rampant left, crowned and armed with a sword, occupies the central field, its body decorated with nine rosettes and trefoils in the traditional manner. The date is divided by the lion's body, with the first two digits appearing to the left and the final two to the right at mid-field. A mintmaster's initial 'S' appears below the date. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. |

| Reverse description | The large numeral '50' dominates the central field, flanked symmetrically by two upward-curving grain sprigs that frame the denomination in a near-wreath arrangement. Below the numeral, the legend 'PENNIÄ' is inscribed in capital letters along the lower arc of the field. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner border running along the coin's periphery. |
