Reverse description The reverse, designed by Jo Goodberry, features a calligraphic rendition of the Christmas carol title 'While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks' rendered in flowing script occupying the central field, beneath a radiant eight-pointed star motif surrounded by smaller stars and dot ornaments. At the base of the design, three robed shepherd figures are depicted in low relief among sheep, evoking the Nativity scene. The denomination legend 'FIFTY PENCE' arcs along the upper periphery in bold capital letters.
