| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Arnold Machin, depicting the Queen with an elegant coiffure and wearing a tiara, her neck and shoulders draped. The legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II curves along the upper left and right fields, with FALKLAND ISLANDS continuing around the upper right periphery. The denomination 50 PENCE appears in the lower field, flanked by raised dots, completing the circular legend. |

Issued in the same year Argentina invaded the Falklands — April 1982 came just months after this coin was struck — the timing gives the piece an unintended geopolitical edge. The wedding itself took place on 29 July 1981, and the Falkland Islands government, like several other British territories, issued commemoratives to mark it. The silver KM#16a was the proof version; a cupro-nickel circulation strike (KM#16) was produced alongside it for a territory with a population then under 2,000.
