Aanvullende informatie

The 2002 date places this coin within a wave of Commonwealth jubilee issues — Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee prompted dozens of dependent territories to issue commemorative silver pieces that year, and the Falkland Islands was among the more politically charged participants. Britain had fought a ten-week war in 1982 to retain sovereignty over the islands, and the territory's continued presence on the commemorative calendar carries weight that most other Commonwealth dependencies simply do not share.

The KM#76a.2 designation distinguishes this from the base-metal circulation issue, the "a" suffix confirming the .925 silver composition introduced for the collector market.
