Reverse description Central medallion depicting a young effigy of Queen Victoria facing three-quarters right, shown before a maritime scene featuring a tall-masted sailing ship and a steam-powered vessel on open water, evoking the era of her reign. The medallion is framed by an ornate inner border with foliate scroll decoration at left and right. The legend VICTORIA arcs across the top of the border, with the regnal dates 1837 and 1901 flanking the central design at left and right respectively. The minting year 2001, commemorating the centenary of Victoria's death, appears in the lower field below the medallion. The engraver's initials DC are visible within the design.
