Additional information

The Isle of Man has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces with notable frequency since the 1970s, and the crowded commemorative calendar of the 2020 VE Day anniversary produced issues from several Crown Dependencies simultaneously. The 75th anniversary of VE Day fell on 8 May 2020 — a date the UK government had planned to mark with large public gatherings before COVID-19 restrictions reduced official ceremonies to near nothing.

KM#1670a is the silver proof variant distinguished by selective gold ink application, a finishing technique more common on base-metal issues and relatively unusual on .925 silver strikes at this weight class.
